TOBI SHUM-WYND

Tobi Shum-Wynd, originally from Toronto, made the heartfelt decision to move to Cochrane five years ago in search of something more meaningful—a community that aligned with her values and offered a sense of love, safety, and belonging. What she found was not just a new home, but a place where she could fully step into her purpose: helping others heal.

Tobi’s own mental health journey was a turning point in her life, awakening a deep empathy and understanding for those navigating their own challenges. This personal experience fuels her passion for mental health advocacy and has shaped her unwavering belief that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process. It can take many forms—conversation, connection, stillness, or support—but it always begins with the courage to reach out and accept help.

With a warm and grounded presence, Tobi is committed to creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and safe to be exactly who they are. She strives to build a community of care—one where individuals are empowered to explore their inner worlds, access meaningful resources, and move forward at their own pace.

Whether through one-on-one support, advocacy work, or community-building efforts, Tobi brings compassion, authenticity, and a deep respect for the human experience to everything she does. Her work is a reflection of her core belief: that when people are met with kindness and understanding, true healing becomes possible.

When she’s not working, Tobi enjoys spending time in nature, connecting with loved ones, and engaging in practices that nourish her own well-being. Her life and work are guided by the same principle—that everyone deserves to feel held, supported, and whole.
