Benazir is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She holds a Master of Counselling degree in Counselling Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Benazir has over 12 years of both formal training and work experience supporting women, children (ages 8+), and teens/adolescents. She also has experience supporting families in schools, clinics, non-for-profit organizations, and in-home settings.

With a passion for holding the hearts of women, children, and teens, and helping them thrive in every phase of their journey, Benazir believes that growth and healing are as unique as we are, and occur when we feel nurtured, safe, connected, and loved. As a woman, an immigrant, a child of divorced parents, and as someone who has struggled her own mental health, she recognizes that we are all just trying to do the best that we can with what we know at the time.

Benazir uses a person-centered and trauma-informed integrative approach which means she understands that we are complex beings made up of many beautiful parts and experiences. She seeks to understand how our identity, experiences, and environment (work, school, home, relationships, etc.,) impacts not only the way that we feel and behave, but also the way that we cope. Benazir’s approach is a collaborative one centered on recognizing and valuing the strength, resilience, and skills that are already present within each person.
